Surgery
All of our patients receive the utmost of care with monitoring equipment that evaluates their heart rate and their oxygen saturation of their blood while they are under anesthetic. We use inhalent anesthesia on our surgical patients. At all of our vet clinics in Des Moines we use both Isoflurane and Sevoflurane gas anesthesia. We also use injectable medications for shorter anesthetic procedures. We have heating elements that the patients are placed on to help regulate their body temperature while they are under anesthetic.

Laser Surgery
- The laser is an intense beam of light that can be precisely controlled, minimizing trauma on surrounding tissues. The advantages of laser surgery include less pain, bleeding and swelling, which reduces the risk of infection and speeds recovery.
- The laser can be used for several different procedures including, but not limited to feline declaw removals, canine dewclaw removals, cyst removals and mass removals.
Electrosurgery
- Electrosurgery uses a less intense electrically heated element that can quickly remove smaller cysts, tumors, and papillomas (wart-like masses).
- It is the least invasive of the mass and cyst removals, but because of the lack of intensity to the heating, it can only be used in select cases.
*For more advanced soft tissue and orthopedic procedures we have access to a Board Certified Veterinary Surgeon.
